1. The Service
QuoteSmith is a web-based tool that helps UK tradespeople create professional PDF proposals using AI. The service generates proposal text based on the job details and line items you provide, and produces branded PDF documents for you to send to your clients.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and a resident of the United Kingdom to use QuoteSmith. By registering, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you are authorised to use the service on behalf of your trade business.
3. Your Account
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You must not share your login details with anyone else. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. If you suspect unauthorised access, contact us immediately at support@quotesmith.co.uk.
4. Free Trial and Subscription
New users receive a 7-day free trial with access to all features. During the trial, you can create and download proposals without charge. After the trial period, continued access requires an active paid subscription.
Subscriptions are billed monthly at the rate displayed on our pricing page at the time of purchase. Payments are processed securely by Stripe. You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings — cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.
5. AI-Generated Content
QuoteSmith uses AI (powered by Anthropic's Claude) to generate proposal text including scope of work descriptions, timelines, and terms. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated content is provided as a starting point and should be reviewed by you before sending to clients.
You are responsible for reviewing and approving all proposal content before use. QuoteSmith does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of AI-generated text for any specific job or circumstance. You should always verify that the generated content accurately reflects the work you intend to carry out and the terms you wish to offer.
6. Your Data
You retain ownership of all data you input into QuoteSmith, including business details, client information, job descriptions, and pricing. We do not claim any ownership over your content. Our use of your data is governed by our Privacy Policy.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the service for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or other users' accounts
- Use automated tools to scrape or extract data from the service
- Resell or redistribute the service without our written consent
- Upload malicious content or attempt to compromise the security of the service
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
8. Intellectual Property
The QuoteSmith brand, website design, and underlying software are owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of our platform without our written permission.
Proposals you generate using QuoteSmith are yours to use as you wish for your business purposes.
9. Limitation of Liability
QuoteSmith is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service
- We are not liable for any loss of business, revenue, or profits resulting from proposals generated by the service
- Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim
10. Service Availability
We aim to keep QuoteSmith available at all times but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. We may occasionally need to perform maintenance or updates that temporarily affect availability. We will endeavour to provide notice of planned maintenance where possible.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
12. Cancellation and Refunds
You can cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you will retain access until then. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods. If you cancel during your free trial, you will not be charged.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
